Bye, Julie!

After a year between us, it is time to say goodbye.  Our English assistant Julianne Palazzo has left us.  She has done a good job in the school, and we really appreciate it.  Best wishes and good luck for the future.  We will miss you, Julie.

Meeting penfriends!

Last Monday, we received the visit of the Westcliff School for girls.  A group of around forty students and their teachers arrived in the morning in order to spend some time with us and get to know their Spanish penpals.   First, some students from ESO 4º showed us a power point about the main attractions of our town: monuments, beaches, and our free time activities. Then, they shared some interesting information about our history and some famous people who were born in Málaga.  Afterwards, English and Spanish students participated in a game, in which they had to look for the members of famous couples.  It was a nice experience for them, and they really had fun.  Later, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast while we interacted using the both languages!

El pasado lunes recibimos en nuestro instituto  la visita de las alumnas del colegio Westcliff junto a sus profesores.  Tanto ellas como nuestros alumn@s estaban muy ilusionadas por conocer a sus "penfriends" o amigos por correspondencia, con los que habían iniciado un contacto vía mail.  En primer lugar, nuestros alumnos realizaron una presentación sobre nuestra ciudad, así como de algunos aspectos sobre la historia y los personajes más significativos de nuestra provincia.  A continuación y para romper el hielo, realizamos un juego en el que los estudiantes debían descubrir quien era su "pareja famosa", averiguando así la identidad de su penfriend.  Tras las primeras charlas e intercambios de opiniones, en ambas lenguas (inglés y español), todos disfrutamos de un delicioso desayuno.  Esperamos que tras esta visita, los lazos de amistad entre ambos centros se mantenga en el futuro. 

Earth hour

Hundreds of millions of people around the world turn off their lights for one hour, this is called Earth Hour, on the same night, to focus on the one thing that unites us all--our planet.  Please turn off your lights next Saturday on the 23rd from 20.30 to 21.30.

IV CULTURAL WEEK

The IV Cultural Week has started this morning in our school, these days you will enjoy many activities, like: cooperative games, gastronomic contest, shadows plays, or trekking.  For sure you will have fun!

Photo contest

As we did in the last three years, the Science Dapartment is organizing a photo contest, their motto is: "Do we take care of the coast?"  You should take a photo of the Málaga's coast that make us think about how we treat the seaboard.  Send your photo showing your name, class and a title for the image before the 13th February to my email-address.  clasesnuria@gmail.com
